Nymue is a cinematic progressive metalband with big influences from classical music, movie soundtracks and ofcourse metal! They invite you on a journey to realms of old and fantasy, where soaring lyrical vocals blend with guttural growls and metalcore precision. Backed by a towering orchestral sound, they are the essential discovery for fans of Kamelot, Epica, Ignea and Architects.

Starting out with just the two of them Vincent van Zwieten and Thirza Fekkes worked on a cover in the summer of 2022 by the Frisian metalband Baldrs Draumar. While working on this cover they arranged for a full orchestra and after this experience they wanted to create more! 

In April of 2023 their next cover saw the light: Scientist by Ayreon and Stream of Passion singer Marcela Bovio. They asked Reinier van Zwieten to join them for the symphonic metal rendition of this ballad. 

For their cover of Mother Earth by Within Temptation the band got expanded with the brutal drums of Dominic Pongers in November of 2023. After working with a plugin orchestra they wanted to work with real classical musicians. They put together an orchestra of 35 musicians consisting of professional, semi-professionals and friends of Thirza’s orchestra days. For their cover of Mother Earth by Within Temptation they also worked with a choir made up of students of Thirza from the Parcival College in Groningen. After that they crossed ways with amazing guitarist Bastiaan Westerbeek for their cover of The Phantom of the Opera who joined in December of 2023.  In the short period of existing they worked together with Jeffrey Revet (Stream of Passion) and Sjoerd Klaas Steegstra (Baldrs Draumar).

Since their inception in 2023, Nymue has carved out a distinct musical identity. They seamlessly bridge the gap between operatic wonders and metalcore aggression, weaving cinematic orchestrations into a fabric of heavy, modern production. Nymue isn’t just a band; it’s a self-contained production powerhouse. From the first notes of the score to the final master, every element of their massive sound is crafted by the members themselves. Drawing from a diverse tapestry of musical expertise, they deliver a “one-of-a-kind” experience that is as sophisticated as it is heavy.

Their highly anticipated debut album, “Born From Dark Waters,” is set to emerge from the depths in October 2026.
